Star trek the future?

Casdoks log supplemental

With advancements in technology the inspirations on Star Trek may one day become reality. And just think what difference it could make to our children

Hypo Spray, a needless injection. C cant have any injections as its just too difficult and dangerous. This would be make such a difference. And if they could take blood samples this way to.....

Tricorders. Wouldn’t this make life so much simple to just be able to scan our children to find out what was ailing them. This would have saved C so much trauma.

Universal Translator. Wonder if this could be used in Review meetings so I knew what they were really trying to say!
As C doesn’t speak to decipher his high pitched squeals and other noises would be wonderful (or would it??!)

Cloaking Device, now this could be useful. I will let your imagination run with this one!

Food Replicator No more cooking or shopping in supermarkets!

Transporter. How useful would this be?! No more waiting in traffic jams, queuing for public transport. Getting your child into the bathroom! Etc

I'm sure a few of these are only a matter of time.

I was given this beautifully hand crafted 'Quick Wit' award along with Maddy by Angela from Memoirs of a Chaotic Mommy for making her laugh (and cry) Angela has asked me to pass it on to 5 people who make me laugh.
Many blogs have made me laugh and cry so not an easy choice, but i would like to pass this award onto; Magneto Bold Too!" A dust bunny in the wind, Ramblings Of A Madman, Fullofbullshite and mother's pride. Hope you enjoy!

Oh Casdok, what a lovely award! Thanks so much - I'm getting quite big-headed actually!

Oh, and if you do find an online order form for any of this stuff, could you put me down for a cloaking device, a food replicator and a transporter. I'll settle up with you later!

Thanks again!
xx

Some of that technology would be just fab.

I can use the universal translator myself; kindly write me up for one, please! (Oh, don't you simply wish this was possible!) And if it weren't, maybe it's about time WE try to invent one. I have a dictionary of sorts for my son's gurgles, screeches, and squeals, for the time PECS simply don't cut it. Strange, but sometimes, I do understand... hmmm...

OOoh pressies!!! Thanks so much babe!

Boo has to go for blood tests soon. I have been putting them off for too long. Last one was at 2 (he is 9) and it took 4 nurses to hold him down. Oh how I wish for a hypo spray.

And the food replicator! Oh the bliss! He will only eat certain foods of certain colours at certain temperatures. Well you get the drift....

I am sure that Star Trek was written for/by those with Autism.

Cath said...

Another Trekkie! Yipeeeee!

Yes life would be so much easier. Put me down for the lot!

i would have uses for all those devices, too....

I think Scotty would make an interesting car repair mechanic.

My children on the spectrum speak just fine, but sometimes I'd like the mind meld thing. Then they'd understand that when I ask them to do something, I'm not a horrible sadist out to get them. (As if I get great joy when I ask them to clean their rooms, and then I hear howling and whining about it. Ugh.)

I would personally go for the transporter, think of all the time we could save not having to drive anywhere AND not having to find a parking space!

Jen said...

I can just imagine what my kids could figure out to do with a cloaking device!

Mima said...

My choice from Star Trek would be easy, I want that wonderful table that they lie on with the healing talent, no question there, even if it could take a bit away that would be nice! I also have my eye on a food replicator, anything that you want, anytime you want it - wonderful.

The first futuristic gizmos are always weapons. Our Army has developed a "ray gun" that disrupts human nerve-endings- not killing them, but making them stop what they're doing immediately! The Navy has developed a electro-magnetic gun capable of hurling a non explosive shell 200 miles and cause more damage through kinetic energy... Scary, ain't it?

Jim said...

They did try and develop a needle-less syringe based on the star trek principle, but I dont think it ever made it into production. The cloaking device and the transporter.........now those would just be fab!

Phil Plasma said...

One thing from Star Trek I hope doesn't come to be is the disposable crew member, common in original series episodes.

Inthemud said...

Great technical innovations, the needleless injection would be brilliant for C and the tricorder thingy. Have you made these things up or are they being developed????

BenefitScroungingScum said...

Oh, just imagine the possibilities...it would certainly level the playing field for those of us with or caring for those with disabilities. BG x

nitebyrd said...

Gods! I could make excellent use of every one of those. That food replicator would be balls out awesome! I hate the supermarket.

Thank you so very much for the award. I'm touched. (But then you already knew that! LOL)

Vi said...

we've practically got a food machine like that now. It's called 'ready made meals' in the fridge section of supermarkets! lol.

Angela DeRossett said...

Oh the transporter and tricorder would rock!! Glad you like your award.. you and Maddy were the two I most had in mind when creating it!

Momisodes said...

Wow...these would be so wonderful. Especially the first and last. I hated giving injections at work to tiny babies, and that would be wonderful!

And the transported,...just imagine, visiting 20 countries in 1 day! I get sick on planes, and this would be a dream :)

Carrie Wilson Link said...

I'll take one of those food replicators - ASAP!

AlinS said...

The hypospray one would be the most useful for me. With my medical condition I have to get lots of blood draws. Lucky for me they always use the micro needles.

Anonymous said...

I've always believed there should be "transporters" and certainly an injection system that has to be better than archaic needles!

Anonymous said...

Those devices would definitely be welcome - why aren't they here yet? Grrr! Oh, congratulations on your award. It's well deserved!

Mary P Jones (MPJ) said...

Yes, Casdok! I'd love anything that would make doctor's visits less traumatic for my son!

Unknown said...

Make it so, Number One.

Marla said...

All of those things sound awesome. We are lucky in that M does well with blood draws. Unfortunately she has had lots of practice. I imagine it would be very difficult with C. You would think they could come up with something better.

Congrats on your award!

virtual nexus said...

Great post - and thanks for the comment on mine. I came across a post recently which showed twelve of the Star Trek inventions which have actually come into existence - so you never know!

Jenny said...

Oh, a transporter would be great! I love to drive, but hate to fly...we could finally go on really long trips again!

Samantha said...

That hypo spray thingy would be a God send. I am terrified of needles and can't have blood tests because I get so bad.

Punkys Dilemma said...

The dream is very possible! I want that Universal Translator! :)

Anonymous said...

lol...u have no clue how many times I have dreamed of having those things.

whimsical brainpan said...

*sigh* I so want a Food Replicator!

Congratulations on your award!

DAB said...

Love the food replicator idea TFX

Dianne said...

They're all great but I really need the transporter! My old car just ain't cutting it anymore.

I spent a bit of time on your sidebar - it is so beautiful and every button, every image made me stop and think or smile.

Oooh... sweet colorful pretty award!

Thank you - I will flaunt that thing on my blog with pride!

I want a phaser!

Melissa said...

Food Replicator...oh yea! And the tricoder! I would love that for our family!

Anonymous said...

Most of those would be great! But you can keep the translator....... some things are just better off not known ;) lmao

katydidnot said...

food replicators...dare to dream.

Irene said...

I would love the transporter and transport myself to my daughter in Texas for a cup of coffee and a nice chat. As it is now, we only get to do that once a year.

Congratulations on the award!

Leslie: said...

I agree these things "would" be great - for anyone! :D

delightful-d said...

Hmmm...A transporter in the bathroom? Brilliant. Come to think of it, a food replicator would come in handy there too when I need an immediate Dr. Pepper.

Anonymous said...

They do (last I heard) have a hypo spray type thing. I think they are testing it now to see how effective it is. I hope they get it done soon wouldn't that be cool.. kids and shots with no crying rock on;)

titration said...

I want the transporter so I can go visit my girlfriend quicker! :)

Anonymous said...

I bet some of these things really do happen and come through. I wouldn't be surprised. A cloaking device? how cool.

Angela said...

I would love to have the thing that Jordy from star treck had.
He was blind and had a visor thing to see with.

Mzungu Chick said...

Casdok - Great ideas; my favourite definitely being the 'transporter' - brilliant in traffic jams. Love it :)

Anonymous said...

I'll have a transporter please!

And congrats on the award!!

Karen said...

That award is well deserved :o)

With my dislike of travelling I would LOVE to have a Transporter. I'd go all over the world and be as fresh as the proverbial daisy!

Lucy Bloom said...

Hi, thanks for stopping by my blog, nice to meet you. Yes, technology can be wonderful, my biggest gripe it that is doesn't have roses on it! Mind you if I could be transported to any flea market in a flash then I'd be happy.
Have a nice weekend,
Lucy x

Loved the injection one and the one for getting your children to the bathroom. Imagine that..

E said...

Everybody wants the transporter, so lets go into the transporter business. Course then there would be the sub prime transporter crisis

WH said...

Did you ever see the Discovery Channel Special (or maybe History Channel) by William Shatner on "How I Changed the Universe." It was about how so much of the ST technology is now being developed.

bindhiya said...

Those technologies are just fabulous.
Congrats on your award.

I'm holding out for doors that swish and a lovely sounding female-voiced computer that I can talk to ;-)

Deborah Carr (Debs) said...

How brilliant. It would be great to have an injection without the needle. Mind you I wouldn't mind never having to queue in traffic again, what bliss.

Ian Lidster said...

Transporters, please. I definitely want them to come into being since flying has become such a nightmare. how cool would that be?

Jean-Luc Picard said...

They would all be most welcome! No needles!

A replicator would be wanted as well, and a holodeck.

Kahless said...

Holodeck has my vote. I LOVE startrek, hence my blog name!

Preity Angel... said...

Those technologies are very fantabulous

Patti said...

Love the idea of a transporter.

Fun post, Casdok

Wouldn't life be so much better, if those were offered every day. No more needles, would make my life so much easier, for sure.

Congratulations on your wonderful award. Very much deserved!!
XOXOXO

Mrs. Fox said...

They do have some sort of injection gun. When my husband was in the military he got all his "immunization shots" with an air gun that forced the medicine through the skin. The bad news is he said it hurt a lot worse than a needle. So, a little ways to go on perfecting that one.

michele_k said...

That's a beautiful award and you certianly deserve it.

And yes, so many of those Star Trek technologies would come in handy! There are so many nights I don't feel like cooking, or driving all over for appointments or pick ups. Just beam me over there. Or teleport like in Jumper.

Unknown said...

I am a guy who has multiple sclerosis that takes a shot every week would love to have "Hypo Spray" which is a needless injection. LOL

Rick Rockhill said...

what a lovely award, well done!

Re the Star trek technology...I am convinced it willall come to fruitition one day!
