for four years i was on the board of directors of the local 'entrepreneurs with disabilities network', and i'm still a member of the organization, for the last eight years
What an amazing campaign! We have something similiar from the Canadian Down Syndrome association (http://www.cdss.ca/site/about_us/welcome.php)..
it's nice to see some groups that actually value their kids, and don't focus on every negative.
Maybe some day the autism world will catch up!

Everybody can do something well. I have greater respect for someone that has ability at something- where I have none.
Ah but you do! Your blog is full of the wonderful things you cook.
Actually- I was referring to areas I have no talent! I love music, but can't play an instrument, I love singing, but not something I do well. Everyone has talent at something- You have helped show that point on your blog quite well! Have a safe trip, and spoil yourself once in awhile!

Wow. Special Olympics and their focus on abilities is so great. I really enjoyed reading about the five athletes.
Central Michigan University in my city of Mt. Pleasant hosts games at the state level every year in June. I'm hoping to get my son involved soon. I always need my running shoes to keep up with him. Thanks for posting about this wonderful organization.

I've always thought everybody needed to own superhero T-shirts. Sometimes you need to put one on and remind yourself of who you REALLY are. Not only does everyone have ability, everyone has greatness in them. These past few posts have been wonderful. Excelsior!

Focusing on ability is vital. I understand completely, with a husband who has a disability and uses a wheelchair.

yay! special olympics... used to do stuff with them although my disabilities are too physical for my special olympics district now... they dont deal with wheelchairs at my SO district... but NWSRA here does a "cross play" thing where they enter into the SO as their own district... so i might do that..

Ah I love these, we only have the one about Mark in our city, well that is the only one I have found so far anyway.
A wonderful lesson as well as a brilliant ad - look and learn before you leap into judgement.
