Word Optical illusions

Read the color of the words below (not the actual words), try to do it as fast as you can. Is it difficult?

How many Fs can you see?

Finished files are the result

Even though the letters are jumbled in the following paragraph, most people have no trouble reading it!

Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

Can you see 2 words here?

Can you see what the word Teach reflects into?

I have seen this before and thought it very clever, the teach learn is interesting. I have a book called "Drawing on the Right side of the Brain" which encourages you to turn an object upside down before you attempt to draw it, this makes it much easier to draw as you see it in a new light and not what your brain assumes it sees.

Ooh, I love these kinds of things!
The colours were really hard - even though my eyes were trying to tell me one thing my brain was trying to tell me another!!!
Just shows how set we become with what we 'think' we know.

I've seen the color words test many times but still have to slow down to get it right, I don't think it can be done fast.

Never seen the Teach/Learn one before, but picked it out right away.

Glad you got back safely, hugs.

Very cool! I love your "tests"!

Blossomcottage: I was reading that book when Ben was first diagnosed, trying to be an artist for 10 years!

It occurred to me that Ben was very right-brained, beings as words meant little, and what you SAW, unincumbered by language was paramount. There was no sense of time, Have you done the exercises to "get in your right mind"?

Freed and Parsons describe ADD in their book "Right-brained Children in a Left-brained World". I very much saw Ben in that, too.

I love when you put these on your blog. Very, very effect in viewing things in life in a different way. Life is always like that, in just about everything. Something we all need to remember.
Glad your back, safe and sound!

Love how you "force" others to see things differently. That's a gift! Thanks for continually giving it!

Though I've never been officially diagnosed, I am 100% certain I have some form of dyslexia among other learning challenges, and I passed every single one of these "tests" with flying colors. It's when I try to look at things "normally" like other people that I run into trouble...how odd is that? Thanks for visiting my blog!

These bring back so many fond memories of my years in the classroom. I used them in my Visual/Spatial curriculum. Thanks for the memories.
P.S. I DO NOT like BloggerGoober's new sign it. My gmail account takes you back to my old BloggerBooger Blog. My new blog is on Typepad:

Love the ``colour of words'' puzzle.

In a Telling Write From Wrong post a couople of months ago (about proof-reading) I deliberately put 15 or so typos into the post.

Then at the end I asked readers how many they had found!

Thanks for putting these up--there were a few that I hadn't seen before.

I love how they make us realize the bizarre techniques that our brains use!

Hi, thanks for visiting my blog and your kind comments. Its really appreciated.
I spent a long time looking at yours and reading quite a lot of it today. I am so glad you have a support group though your blogging. I can see how it helps you cope and your passion for your son.
My Grandson has been diagnosed with mild Asberger autism. I can understand where you are coming from to some extent, though he doesn't act out very much. It is such a difficult condition. I admire what you are doing and just wanted you to know I care.

5 F's...

Casdok said...

For those of you who were wondering, there are 6 Fs. In the word Good there is hidden the word evil.

Milla said...

feeling very smug because I got 6 "f"s (but had to concentrate embarrassingly hard!). And how funny, I saw Good and couldn't find the other word at all until told. Am glad it wasn't the other way round - I saw the v in the o and the l in the d as hearts. Aaah.

These are all awesome, but I don't understand why people have a problem with the color tests. I've been able to do those either way (color of the words and the words themselves) for quite a while. oh and the good/ evil one, If you can tell me where to find more of optical illusions like that it would really help me , I"ve been looking for some but have only found about three. thanx.
