Shrek in German means fear. My son is not frightening - hes autistic.
Answers;1.Ape2.Ape3.Artist4.Artist5.Ape6.ArtistSo how did you do?!
I thought the last one was an artist, but didn't pick the others!!
I got it right! Not that I think the artists are any better.Oh, btw, there is something for you over at my blog.
I got about half right! Elephants paint too!
Damn! I was 100% right. I almost picked #5 for Artist too, but chose against it.Hmmm... still don't understand how those slabs of paint can be considered art though... I kinda wish I had been 100% wrong - just to prove my point ;)
I know enough to know not even to try ;) lol
I picked 2 & 5 Ape, the others artist. #1 was my favorite
It's hilarious that there's even a question about this!My brother and a close childhood friend of mine are both painters, and both hate, hate, hate abstract art. You can get them onto a rant about how today's art scene makes it impossible for someone who wants to say something real and make it look attractive to make money, if you have a couple weeks to listen. I sympathize with them.
Hello - interesting post for sure. I wanted to tell you too - in case no one else has, or no one has contacted you as yet, but David McMahon over at Authorblog would like for you to e-mail him so he would have your e-mail address. He wants to write to you pertaining to a project he is setting up for his blog, so please drop him a note. OKAY?
Got all but Number 5.That was cool!and thanks for all your prayers and well wishes during my difficult time.Peace and hugs.
Oooh- I love #3!
I didn't get five at all. Interesting.
I got 4 of 6... but that isn't saying much. The apes ought to sell their work !
I love tests when I get all the answers correct! YAY! me!Thanks, Casdok!
That is a great point! I think I like them all, but the ones by the apes are a little more my style, only b/c they look like something my children would do. :)I'm glad that you found my blog b/c in turn I have now found yours!! :)Have a GREAT day!! Hugs, Jenn PS i added you to my blog roll is that okay??;)
Damn! I thought they were all apes... xx
I should have been an artist, I'd be famous!
I guessed number 5 correctly, I didn't bother guessing about the others.
Oh, I got the first one wrong! And I wouldn't hang ANY of them in my house!
They all look ape to me.I'm just so uncouth ... not at all cultured. And proud of it!:D
Got them - now racking my brains to remember which artists!Good post...
I missed two, but I do like #4
http://www.thepaintingfool.com/- the painting computer....
I thought I'd be a chimpion (sorry, champion) at this, but what a great presentation you've given us.Thank you so much ....
Well, they actually all look like the same artist did them. Thanks for visiting my blog today.
Well that showed me - there I was getting all smug thinking yeah - easy no problem . . .hah I got it mostly wrong . . .
I wonder what the artists' responses would be?!The first one looks similar to the the mess I made on the floor while painting my bedroom the other day :)
didn't do too bad, honest!my favourate is no 5 so that says a lot for the artisit then
Wow! that is amazing! I guessed right about no 5 being the ape! it just goes to show you though as I can just imagine all the art snobs looking at the ape pics and saying "Yes...yes, I see what the artist is trying to say here!" You def cant judge a book by its cover!
My favourite is the first one, but I figured an ape had done it because he didn't fill up all the white space! lol
I got them right. You'll have to trust me on this but the ape pictures have the same basic shape and the artist ones have representational forms that seemed somehow non ape like. Either that or I got them wrong but I have terrific chutzpah.
I've seen beauty in shit smeared on the wall ..there's beauty everywhere yanno?thanks for coming by my blog..
Answer: All of them. We're all apes. Some of us are more apeish than others ;)
Thats my sons fortee!!
I was greatly saddened to have got them all.Perhaps I need to rethink my "call-that-art?-a-monkey-could-do-better" attitude to art... xx
I love the work you do through your blog so I've included you in a blog award at www.thecanvasgrey.wordpress.comYour blog is really awesome and C is so lucky to have a mom like you. All the best, Debi
Oh I thought wee had to just choose one- the ape - and I chose #2 so I got one right:)
Not terribly well I'm afraid. It reminds me of the [current?] advertisements in Heathrow airport, two pictures exactly the same but with opposite responses depending upon which country you're from. Yes I know I've spent too much time in Heathrow lately!Cheers
I guessed numbers 3, 4 and 6 correctly, but wasn't sure about the others.I have the unpopular view, though, that humans and other primates aren't as different as we humans might like to think.
fun post. Glad you gave us the answers, though, because I couldn't get them all.
Casdok - check out my blog I gave you an award!!
Considering what's hanging in some of the finest international art museums, I think they all deserve a spot on some wall. They're certainly better than anything I could do.
I would guess that 2 and 5 are ape but I know you will say I am wrong.
Oh I have just read your answer Casdok, I got two right but missed number 1, that was a surprise that one.
Only no 6 was painted by a human.
I liked them all! Next time I shall buy art cheaply from an ape, tee hee!:))Axxx
#1 looks like something my son painted at school when he was 4. It was chosen for an exhibition of art by people with autism and his teacher at the time did a very convincing blurb about its artistic merits!!Cx
I got them all correct.I love all kinds of art.I do like The Ape #2 &Artist's #4 & #6 the best.I've seen both Elephant'sand Cat's that paint, butnever Ape painting untiltoday. Some of the responses gaveme a laugh. Thanks!Have a Blessed Happy HealthyFun Creative Blessed Year!!!
1,2 and 5 are ape, great post, just visiting from david mcmahon latest post - no matter how I did, I think this is great brain exercise. Thanks for sharing and let us to be involved. Anna :)
I thought the first two were painted by an ape but didn't get the other one.Perhaps it was the gorilla in the Cadbury's advert?
i'll be darned if i knew the difference
Maybe the artists believe in evolution and are over-identifying with their "kin?"OK, or maybe I just don't appreciate modern art.
I think the ape IS an artist!(Or the artist is an ape???)
some small corrections, precisions :)[...]Then the human will fuck up said animal's timing by giving the animal some other timing variation and giving said animal FOOD by moving some other kind of animal species #2 in the territory of species #1. While species #2 would NOT have gone into species #1's territory where it not of humans!!!! OR species #2 would have knocked on the door before!!! THUS SPECY #2 WOULD HAVE RESPECTED SPECY #1 timing!!!!!!But humans say fuck that and go there. Specy #1 being invaded by *Humanimal* specy #2 thus kill rape and eat. This is all human based. Humanity has a total monopoly on earth except maybe in africa and in the air and sea and on the moon and elsewhere. But every place there are zombies and roads criss crossing the territory with cars running over free walking animals, humans rule. That's about 0.000000000001% of the universe or less. Meaning humans really suck in those place. However i have not yet found how to go to the moon and get rid of all those animals. :(((
This was fun. I knew 3 and 6 were artists because, if they're painted by who I think they're painted by, I recognize the style. Didn't get #4 though. I also get a kick out of the comments. People who haven't got a clue about art of any kind feel they must weigh in with their valuable opinions. I wonder if they have a strong opinion about, say, Russian or nuclear physics, too? e.g. "I don't understand the appeal of Sri Lankan jazz, so it must be bogus." :)
