Lighter side to weight loss!

With Jan 1st fast approaching most of us think about loosing some weight. My brother is getting married in Feb, and you know what us girlies are like!

I’ve stuck these quotes on my fridge to remind me!!

"With your diet, don't dawdle -- if you don't want to waddle!"

"Bigger snacks means bigger slacks"

"It's better to laugh or to giggle, than to eat more and jiggle!"

"You gotta move it to lose it... "

"You gotta eat right for the fat to take flight"

"Eat, Shrink, and be Merry!"

"According to the book, it takes 3500 fewer calories to lose a pound of fat, but I don't think my fat can read"

"Eat wise, drop a size."

"Give up that fat - watch your belly go flat."

AOQILI is a unique weight loss soap. I’ve heard it all now!

Except maybe this Squid Ink Flavoured Ice Cream - that’s enough to put you off!

Or this
Have you any tips??

happy dieting :(
enjoy these tips!
FOOD HAS NO CALORIES IF...
You eat it while standing.
In fact some research suggests it may have negative calories.
If you eat it while standing at the sink.
You can't remember eating it afterward.
You share it.
You eat it with your fingers.
Empty calories = zero calories!
Always eat equal portions of white chocolate and dark chocolate.
The calories in each will cancel the other out.

I need to join you on this diet. I'm hoping the two walks a day with Motley will help. I've heard cider vinegar helps too!

snailbeachshepherdess said...

Get walking ....fast>>>>>>> before someone suggests you drink the cider vinegar..>>>>>>>>>>>

I plan on spending 2008 starving myself too. I hope to lose a significant amount of weight this year.

I've never had to diet. I eat to live, not live to eat.

I'm suspicious of the free rice link.

I have in fact come up with the Perfect Diet - it's called the Eat As Much As You Like So Long As You Don’t Like What You’re Eating Diet

Because you can eat as much as you like, you’ll never need to go hungry; but because you’re not allowed to eat anything you like the taste of, you’ll have to avoid all the chocolate, crisps, sweets and home baking products that pile on the pounds. You’ll steer clear of large portions and you’ll never be tempted to have second helpings.

Perfect.

I like the slacks comment - one to remember! Although stretch jeans have their uses too...

Fridge pickers wear bigger knickers!

I have lost more than a stone since the Autumn. Basically just change your choices. Eat an apple instead of some chocolate. Eat a huge salad with some protein added instead of sandwiches. If everyone else is having dessert/pudding then just have a tiny bowl of it - what I call 'dolly desserts' or stock up on low fat desserts like jelly. Don't add sugar to food - use Splenda in cooking;look at their website. Be motivated, it won't happen without some input from you. Get the stuff OUT of the house - if you want to eat while you watch TV then chop up a huge bowl of chunks of celery, cucumber etc. YEP its not chocolate but you won't pile on the pounds.

DO IT and BE HAPPIER with your body!

Those sayings were good. I shall do my best to remember them as I need all the help I can get! I've heard of the cider vinegar but it tastes foul. Maybe I should just not worry about dieting and simply enjoy eating my food.

Great sayings. The minute I plan on losing weight and make it a goal I can't stop thinking about food.

Casdok,
These are BRILLIANT TIPS...I'M GOING to print these out and put them on my fridge!!! Thank you thank you t hank you...speshly since I quit smoking...losing weight is sooooooooooo much harder! It wouldn't be that fact that 50 happened, or menopause...or anything thing else would it?

No...

I've linked into you by the way!

laughingwolf said...

eat what you like, just less of it...

now, i gotta get back to stair climbing, since it's dreadful outdoors!

Astryngia said...

Don't diet, just eat healthy! If you try to eat the recommended ten (yes ten!) cups of fruit and veg each day, you won't have room for much else! And it's not a bad diet for a young man with autism either! Wheat-free, casein-free...

Just add protein from nuts, seeds and quinoa (in Marigold broth) and you'll be well away. I fill up on hummous/carrots, sun-dried tomatoes and olives. Lost a stone in a month. ;-)

Hugs for you. Tough circumstances. Hope you have a wonderful New Year.

I always walk in the early morning, and if it is icy out, I run on the treadmill-- i love doing it it is such an ingrained habit --I eat a big breakfast afterwards, and those two things are key I guess--fitness and a nice healthy breakfast.

I think I'll pass on the squid ink ice cream and water bugs!

My mom always had a couple of magnets on her fridge for weight loss. "A moment on the lips, forever on the hips," and "He who stuffeth puffeth."

These are great little phrases to help with motivation. I know I'm going to need it. I always start of well but then loose momentum. These are going everywhere that I can think of to help keep me on track.

diets don't work. change your eating habits to include more healthful, lower fat foods and increase your activity levels.

i thought you'd enjoy one of the comics i read. it has a mother of 5 kids, one of whom is autistic.

Jen said...

You forgot the most important one...

"Food taken with wine doesn't count."

It's worked for me :-)

Jorgo said...

Those fridge quotes are great and positively helpful.
Best wishes for the new thinner you!
"Faith" took mine, almost -
"Little Pickers Wear Big Knickers"
and another I like is
"Through the lips and on the hips!"

I lost 12 kilos by walking briskly twice a day and cutting down on portions.

One day a week I eat anything I want.

Enjoy the extra energy!

Casdok said...

Dykewife, than you for the comic! Never seen that before!

And Jen...now that is my kind of diet!! :)

Mrs. C said...

Oh, these comments are so FUNNY!

If I were *really* brave, the fact that no one recognizes me anymore because I'm fat would not bother me. I'd say it's all the mysogynistic culture and etc. etc.

But I really want to be so thin that people wonder if I'm undergoing cancer treatments when I wear a hat. I just don't stop eating, is all.

I am a hypocrite LOL!

Thank you for visiting my blog and posting such nice comments! I would have sworn that I had only three readers; now I have four!

WhooOOOoooo!
