Coincidence?
C was happy doing his own thing (as you can see he is now wearing a helmet full time, i don't like it but it is functional and temporary till we can get one fitted for him) in our local shopping centre, watching the passing feet. My friend and i were having coffee, chatting whilst keeping a close eye on him.
Has anything like this happened to you???

ta for the utton its up now x
Chris, will add a bigger photo! Cos yes Katy it was a bit Wow!!!
Your blogs have been an incredible insight into the world of autism and even those (me) that have children with this condition have learnt so much from your daily facts and tales about C. It is telling you to keep on. Write more. Write a book. Capable is you. You are more than capable. Your guardian angel obviously paid you a visit to make sure you understand how appreciated you are.
Crystal xx
Oo-er! Gosh I don't believe it either... there's another ChrisH out there!
A true and fitting moment of serendipity.
My Mum has things like that happen. Objects that she has never seen before suddenly appear in her house. She is keen to know what message is being left.
I agree with everything Crystal has said...it is a sign to carry on with what you are doing so well.

Oh that's so fantastic! A proper Christmas miracle x x x
you have just gotta love how the universe works ...xxx
cheers kim..
cherish her..xxxx
too funny!
That is too cool!
Now that is spooky!
Being the mother of Fiona I can tell you that to actually buy Fiona toys is a lot more difficult than Disney Princesses ,so to find one at your feet...
I concur with Crystal, a guardian angel. You and C enlighten so many.
dont believe in coincidences.
i hope the helmet is helping!
shrek's wife... what are the odds?
wonderful! :)
My life is so full of "coincidences" that I think I must be existing in some time warp.
For example (sorry if it's a little long):
The other morning I was writing a scene for my novel. The protagonist is watching the attempted capture by the cops of a shepherd mix whose drunken owner has just been hauled off in a paddy wagon.
She says:
"(The cop) is moving toward the dog, who looks wily enough to escape. Wile E. Coyote."
Shortly after I wrote that sentence, I was standing at the kitchen sink, looking out at the snow. And along comes a real live coyote, trotting across my front yard. This one is gray and has hurt front paw. He moved along the edge of the property and was soon out of sight. Just I was thinking about the synchronicity of it, as if to reinforce my thoughts, he came back again, heading in the other direction. It almost seemed as though he did it twice to make sure I saw him.
Wow.
Yes, I believe this things happen for a reason. A lovely little sign to you. God bless you and C this Christmas.
Casdok, I have a question about the helmet. How did C handle wearing it in the beginning? My daughter is in need of one also, but she is so sensory defensive that her attempts to remove it may be worse than the head banging. Did you have to do anything in preparation for him wearing it - anything to get him used to wearing something on his head, or did he just naturally accept it?
Thanks,
Deborah
Wow- I hope you saved it.
I had an experience like that this past June. I was in Florida, in training for my work. I was studying for the exam in the morning- I walked out of my hotel room, and on the floor in the hallway, was a Tarot Card- The Wheel of Fortune. I was sure it was a sign that I would pass the exam. I didn't. At least not that time.
Oh well, I still have it in my purse because it was cool to find nonetheless.
Ashleys mum, When we tried a helmet years ago, just trying to get it on made the headbanging worse. So we started by just introducing a hat. That took a few years! And now with the helmet it was just a matter of litraly seconds at a time, and that has now biult up.
Good luck!
Holy cow...talk about a sign!!
I have plenty of coincidences, synchronicities, serendipities, but none of them are as fun as that one. With the way I have lived my life, my coincidences usually get my but out of a lot of trouble. But, I'm not complaining. C:)
Totally freaky that! Good... we both are mate! Weird there's another Chris H out there!
Coincidence or not - that's awesome!
Very cool. Nothing like that has ever happened to me but I've heard lots of similar stories.
oh wow! that is super special and most likely no coincidence. i do believe in synchronicity and i think it was bestowed on you. i needed a story like this today...smiling here.
oh and thank you for visiting me so often even when i am so neglectful. i always love seeing you.
The universe works in mysterious ways. Look at it as gifting you for doing such an awesome job.
misha
Weird but kind of fascinating.
Sometimes, when the Universe talks, one must listen.
HOW COOL IS THAT?!!!
gives me goosebumps!
Gotta love synchronicity!
Is it possible someone walking by placed it there, perhaps for a reason?
Very fitting!
Some things are just random events with no meaning at all. A child must have dropped it.
No nothing like that has ever happened to me. But what a great story for you!!!!
This is very odd but in a warm-yor-tummy sort of way! He must hav an angel lookin out for him an the angel has a sense ov hewmer! Hehe!
Yes, sumthing weird happend to Mummy yeers ago-
she waz on holiday an wantid to send a postcard to her Arntie hoo wassent well. She cuddent remember her door number tho. So she consentraytid an tryd to remember. Then she wrote "95 Minster Road".
Well! That arnt akchewly lives at number 297 Minster Road, so not even close!
BUT! BUT BUT BUT!
The card was deliverd to number 95 on a diffrent named road in a diffrent town ON THE DAY THAT HER CUZZIN WAZ VISITIN THERE! So the peepol gave her the postcard an sed, "I think this is fer yor mum!"
WEIRD!!!!!!
noo noo noooo noo noo noo nooooo noo... (Twilight Zone Music)

Thanks for visiting my blog on Dec 18th. I really like your site too. Your son is beautiful! I've been on the fringes of the autistic world, but I'm so thankful I'm learning more about it from the people who understand it best...those with autism. It's been the entrance into a new world. Please feel free to email me sometime...pepperbasham@yahoo.com
Yes, it is happening to me too. I think they are signs we are on the right track, prayers answered, etc. I think it is fabulous and I'm very happy for you because I KNOW it made you feel good and smile! Canvas Grey
Awesome, a little reminder that someone is looking out for you...
Little signs to let you know everything is going to be just fine
Smiles!
I remember a time when my son (blind and autistic) was about 9. I was having an extra rough day due to smearing. When I went in and saw it had happened again for the 5th time, I went up to my room and cried. I said "God, why do you hate me?"
When I got it together and went back down to his room, my boy, who speaks using echolalia said clear as day, "God loves you mama." I just about added to the poopoo all over the floor!
Biffalodickdy, dont think anyone local knows about my blog, or if they do, that i was going to sit where i did when i did!
BBC, im sure your right that a child dropt it, but what a place to drop it!!
I don't believe anything is a coincidence...
xx
I'm finding it kind of funny myself. I love it. And I love that you have a sense of humor about life. Sometimes it's what keeps us going. Thanks for visiting my blog!
That is wonderful--I love finding things! Elissa is right--not a coincidence.
Wow!
Peace
Yes, I was walking past a tree on the corner of a junction when a plastic keyring tag from the nearby Sai Baba shop fell from nowhere on me, saying 'Love all serve all -Baba' in it. It is on my wall 10 years later.
Glad to see you like poo on your profile, first time I've seen that one but if you read some of my earlier posts you'll see I do as well...
Poo! Yes we have a lot of poo round here!!
Oh wow! Too funny...
Is that Victor I see....!!!!must be him.....that was on my mind too......you know you know you know.......you know!!!
Everything happens for a reason. I think some folks saw it as an angel, but it's Fiona, right?
That's absolutely amazing, Mother of Shrek!
Christmas hug to you...
Things like this happen to me all the time...if we are open and receptive it is amazing what comes to us at the "right" moment. You have that ability, the open heart and open mind.
