Spring forward - Fall back

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions yesterday, this for me is why blogging is so great as it shares a wealth of experience.
I will print all the comments out and give it to Cs school Psychologist, much of what was suggested is either on going or has been tried before, but there were some new ideas. Thank you.
On a more light hearted note.....
Did you remember to put your clocks back an hour?!
Why do we still do this?
It must be difficult for all parents.
C doesn’t sleep much at the best of times, I find it a bit easier to do the hour change over 2 days.
As its near the end of Cs half term, And I haven’t had much sleep. My best friend commented on the fact if I was invited to a Halloween party I wouldn’t have to dress up.
She may have a point there, even my Shrek ears have gone droopy!!!

They've changed our fall-back 'til later in the year on our side of the pond. So we are one hour closer to you... for a while. Here's hoping you sleep well anyway.

Time changes are terrible to deal with - I find them hard enough myself without the added task of helping my kids adjust!

Is the DST shift today? I would have missed it had I not read your post this morning!

When I started up the computer this morning it reminded me about the time change. I adjust pretty well as I keep weird hours anyway sometimes and don't pay a lot of attention to it all.

Maybe I have an internal clock, I haven't used an alarm most of my life.

Time is a concept man created to try to keep track of stupid stuff. It hasn't got much meaning to an omnipresent being at times. :-)

Mutter, mutter.

Waaaay over here in Midwest America, we haven't changed the clocks yet. Would you believe it used to be this weekend, but they moved it into Nov. The only reason they do this is for retail stores!

you my dear, I'm sure can never look horrifying. It will take me the whole year just to reset all my clocks. I think I've still got a watch that's set on GMT!

Casdok you have the best pictures! I'm glad you came up with some new ideas regarding C's head banging. Maybe something will work.

Have a good day and try to get some rest!

I double checked after my last comment... this is the first year we extend DST... Don't set your clocks back until next weekend.

I don't like time changes either. I hope you can get some nice naps and extra rest soon.

Good grief, is it that time of year again?

Hope you get some rest!

I had heard the time change was happening next weekend.

It's too bad that sleep can't be stored up for when you need it - like now!

Why don't they just move the clock back a half an hour and leave it there? Sure, it would look weird that every timeline has a :30 instead of :00 on it, but I digress. It takes me a month to adjust in the fall. Funny, in the spring, I adjust faster. It's the shorter daylight hours. Ugh. We have an extra week. That's good.

Darn, don't you just hate getting up when it's still pitch black? Ah well, here we go again then, eh? Humph.

May you soon get the rest you need, my dear. Can't be having you with droopy ears.

Thank you!
And not to mention my eye lids!

How do you keep a sense of humour? Mine goes AWOL when I don't get enough sleep. You must be a very special person.

I hope you get some much needed rest. Rest is so important, but I know you know that. Having said that, I know you look beautiful with our without rest. I think you will just feel so much better if you get your sleep. Take care of you!!
XOXO

In the state that I live in they pasted an act in our congress that we don't change time. All the states around us do, but Arizona doesn't. I like it that way, though my family lives in another state and they never know if I'm on their time or not!!

I'm just glad that we'll get an extra hour of sleep with this time change! I'm amazed how late it is staying dark since we're waiting so long to change the time this year. Sunrise is after 7:30am in northern Virginia now!

I hate getting up in the dark and the hour change puts that off for a bit. For the rest of us, the change gave us an extra hour in bed, but of course, C would still work on the old time with what sleep he needs. Get a good rest when he goes back to school.

Hi Casbok, Thanks for dropping by and wishing me a Happy Birthday.
Chin up girl, you're doing great. It's amazing how well we can actually function with little sleep you just have to get around that mindset of "need sleep, need sleep, need s.l.e.e......
