Safe haven

My mother is a botanist so i like the wild look!

I have a walled garden in the middle of a town so i wanted a country feel, a safe haven for C to lose him self in the smells of the plants and the dangly sparkly things that he loves to watch.

And it works well, he spends many a happy hour squeaking and stimming. He strips off his clothes before going in the garden (if he had his way he would be naked all the time) Come rain or shine!

Wouldn't we all love to do that!!

Wouldn't we all!
My son hates wearing clothes - the problem is when he runs out into the street naked that things can become awkward with the neighbours!

What a lovely place for C to be himself! You're lucky to have such an area you can provide for him.

I'm surprised my son doesn't take his clothes off, the elastic on his underwear really bothers him. So far the only stripping he does is when he is upset - and he tries it in the car!

I would like to have the confidence to be anywhere outside of my bedroom or bath naked! :D

Looks like a lovely garden, I am a fan a dangling and sparkling myself.

I see that your son means a lot to you, but I hope that you also have a life beyond that.

I don't really know what British women are like, but they seem more open minded about some things than American women.

I for one have gotten very tired of American women, the ones available to me anyway. Maybe I should just go live in a cave.

Geez, I'm cranky today.

What a beautiful garden!

I think you have to be British to know how to make things look so lovely and picturesque in such a small space. :) (I have a similar small space, but it's a disaster!)

It would be nice to strip off in our own gardens. I'd have sheep to keep me company I suppose! And 10 muckle tups to boot!

Amy very often strips off to nothing. I have told her she needs to have at least underwear on. The problem is she is so big for her age of 7. People assume she's about 11. We also have other personal issue which worry me somewhat about her development and so I go a bit frantic when I see her undressed in front of someone else. Not quite sure how to approach it sometimes.

I don't think I could get away with being nude in our backgarden. Everyone in the estate would get to see my goodies! LOL!

Your garden looks fab. Clothes must be quite irritating and one more thing to tip the sensory overload scales!

My youngest two spent the whole summer naked in the garden youngest still is stripping off out there even though its getting a tad chilly. Oh to be that free from self-consciousness again.

Monday's poem was a beautiful tribute to your son on his birthday. So hard to not be able to spend it with him.

Our garden is not overlooked so I frequently go naked when its warm enough. When Em was little she used to strip off all the time. Nice for C to be naked when he can.

My kids used to run around naked in the back yard with the hose on. Damn, that got the state-agency atypical behavior team cranky. Hell, typical kids like to play nekkid in the water.

Once, my older son managed to open the gate. I looked out the front door and saw my next-door neighbor pointing down. Sure enough, my naked kid was watching him water his garden.

The phone rang just as I started to comment hence "lovely" and no more, was then on phone for 1/2 hr. but I know what you mean about the garden and how good it is for C to get out there and be naked and happy.

No worries Muddie, i know you have a lot on!
And thank you!

Hi Casdok - I think your garden is a lovely haven for both you and C. It allows C to be himself and you to be able to watch and enjoy his freedom without worrying about the outside world which as we know can sometimes be judgmental.

WW...sometimes....is an understatement!

And Deb, so happy my blog was able to given someone some inspiration...

Oh, to be naked and unashamed. To run and have the green grass tickel our feet. To have the Sun shine on our face and feel the breeze against our backs. To smile and be happy.

hello :) i love your garden and thanks for dropping by my blog :) my elbow will be fine. it's a bout of rather nasty tendonitis or possibly bursitis. anyway, i'll be fine after a ton of advil and time.

c. is a very lucky son. i worked in an institution for the mentally handicapped. most were there because their families couldn't or wouldn't care for them. there were 3 or 4 men in the cottage i worked at. i never knew the word for the rocking and waving that they did. but they seemed happy enough in their own worlds. change did upset them greatly.

i'm glad c. has you as his mother.

Hey C,

My mom has a great English garden (in Texas) that I love walking through. It reminds me that that there's always hope where new life is springing up.

As for running naked . . . that may be a problem since my parent's house is situated on the second hole of a golf course!
